Smithy 

Located in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood, Smithy opened for dinner service in April 2018 and now also serves up lunch and happy hour. Smithy’s ‘unique eats’ menu features American, Asian, French and Mexican-style cuisine. Popular food items include steak bruschetta and crab nachos as shared plates and Luke’s hot chicken for a larger, dinner portion. Smithy’s drink menu features ten different creative craft cocktails as well as ten beers on tap – all local to Texas! This trendy restaurant is small and intimate, so reservations are highly recommended and can be made through Smithy’s online reservation system.

 

Town Hearth

Town Hearth is chef Nick Badovinus’ swanky steakhouse - a worthy splurge located in the Design District of downtown Dallas. Town Hearth’s retro décor took three years to put together and includes 64 crystal chandeliers, a yellow submarine encased in an aquarium and napkin rings made from vintage license plates…among other things. Town Hearth offers dinner service Monday – Saturday and its upscale menu has something for everyone including popular dishes such as 11 different aged steaks, fresh seafood and dry-aged meatballs as an appetizer. The steaks are served a la carte, so be sure to indulge in some of their sides such as the macaroni casserole or griddled cauliflower. Yelpers encourage you to save room for the mud pie for dessert. And…if you’re in the market for a new motorcycle, there’s also a restored ’74 Ducati Sport on the menu for $75,000.

 

Saint Ann Restaurant and Bar

Featuring the largest garden patio in Dallas, Saint Ann is located within the Harwood District near Victory Park and was originally built in 1927 as Dallas’ first school for Hispanic children. The second level of the restaurant houses The Samurai Collection as a part of The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum. Serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, Saint Ann’s strawberry shortcake French toast and smoked salmon or crab cake benedict are brunch favorites. If you can’t make it for brunch, you can also enjoy the smoked salmon as an appetizer on both the lunch and dinner menus and the truffle mac ‘n cheese is a side dish not to be missed.

 

The Tipsy Alchemist

While not technically a restaurant, if you’re looking for craft cocktails with a right-level, nerdy science twist, The Tipsy Alchemist is your spot. Located in Uptown, The Tipsy Alchemist is a social lounge with a club vibe. With no food menu, the drinks and the bartenders mixing them up are the stars. One of the fan favorites is The Edison – a deconstructed mojito, served in a lightbulb. Reservations are recommended for this hot spot, especially if you’re one of the cool kids who typically roll in around 10pm.
