Super Bowl LII is just a few days away on Sunday, February 4th. Even if you're not an Eagles or Patriots fan, P!nk is slotted to perform the national anthem and Justin Timberlake will perform during halftime which is reason enough to watch. With a lineup like that, you may be planning on hosting a Super Bowl party if you’re not lucky enough to be going to U.S. Bank Stadium. If you’re hosting a Super Bowl party at your apartment, remember these simple etiquette tips to avoid upsetting your neighbors:
Even if you don’t know who they are – friends may bring guests of their own so make sure to introduce yourself to anyone you may not know to make them feel welcome.
Consider setting up multiple TVs so no one misses a minute of the game no matter where someone is in your home.
Make sure to serve refreshments other than alcohol. It is easy for parties to get obnoxious when guests have had too much to drink. Serving alternative beverages like soda, punch or water can help keep guests from getting too rowdy.
DECORATE WITH BOTH TEAMS’ COLORS
Be a good sport and show your spirit for both teams by decorating with both teams’ colors or decorations. Keeping the vibe team-neutral can help avoid heated arguments between both teams’ fans.
NOTIFY YOUR NEIGHBORS
It is a good idea to let your neighbors know you will be hosting a Super Bowl party. Not only will they appreciate the heads up but if you discuss how to let you know if your guests are too loud, it can help prevent calls about excessive noise to the leasing office (or police).
Properly dispose of your garbage. Make sure the garbage fits inside the dumpster or your valet trash bin. This helps to keep the community looking nice and prevents garbage from being dragged around if an animal or weather breaks the garbage bag.
