Countertop Space Hacks

January 18, 2018

Apartment kitchens typically aren’t the biggest but there are ways to use the space efficiently. There are ample non-permanent solutions in the market allowing the below customizations such as Command™ hooks and the like. A lot of people don’t realize the space above and below cabinets can be useful for example. Become an expert on how to use your space to its potential by following these simple countertop/cabinet space hacks:

USE THE SPACE ABOVE AND BELOW CABINETS
Using Command™ hooks below the cabinets to hang pots, pans or smaller items such as coffee mugs and the like can save ample cabinet space. This in turn can free up counter space by giving you space to store things that may be setting on your counter. Placing items above the cabinets may put them too far out of reach so save this space for items you don’t use very often or for decorations.

MAGNETIC MOUNTS
Get rid of the knife block and replace it with a magnetic mount you can attach your knives to. Use a non-permanent solution to attach the mount to the wall so you can attach other magnetic items to it – magnetic tins, clips, etc.

UNDER-CABINET RACKS
Explore non-permanent items you can hang under your cabinets such as paper towel racks, wine glass racks, etc.

SHELVING

Adding shelving can add another level for storage.

PANTRY AND OTHER CABINET DOORS
Use the inside of your pantry and cabinet doors wisely. Attach Command™ hooks or temporary shelves to store utensils and spices instead of setting them on the counter.

REFRIGERATOR TIPS
Utilize your refrigerator to its full potential – use the soda can racks as spice racks and purchase magnetic shelves for the side of the fridge.
